Nepal Champion Rupesh Jaiswal in the Hetauda Cup Asian Open Chess Tournament-2023 lost his very first game with 1433-rated Indian player Borse, Pankaj.
With the coordination of Nepal Chess Federation, Nepal Chess Federation, Hetauda Chess Club, and Makwanpur District Chess Association organized the Heatuda Cup Asia International Chess Tournament which begins today where Bagmati Province Member Secretary Surya Lal Bhandari, General Secretary of NECOS and NCF Dharam Lama, Bagmati Province PABSON President Keshav Lal Shrestha inaugurated the event along with the team of Makwanpur District Chess Association.
The tournament is with many international players from India, Bangladesh, Srilanka and Nepal. India's highest-rated player Subhayan Kundu, Bangladesh IM Abu Sufian Shakil, IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin, FM Ahmed Sheikh Nasir, FM Chatterjee, Debaraj, FM Md. Sharif Hossain, FM Nayem, Haque, Indian player FM Singh Arvinder Preet, Rahul Gurung, Srilankan women player WFM Ranasinghe, S D along with Nepali player Sushrut Dahal, Young Talent Purushottam Silwal, Rajan Subedi and all top players today won both rounds.
A total of 86 players are playing in the event from India, Bangladesh, Srilanka and Nepal.

The winner of the event will be granted Rs 1,25,000/- Runnerup with Rs 75,000/- 2nd Runnerup with Rs 40,000/- along with the prize for the top 15 players with prizes for category prizes.
